Beta OmEGA AlumniAssociation

membership

The Beta Omega Alumni Association of Theta Xi Fraternity (BOAA) was established soon after the founding of the Beta Omega chapter in 1972 to provide opportunities for the Theta Xi brotherhood experience to continue after leaving Virginia Tech with lifelong relationships with well loved friends and brothers.

B.O.A.A. has long history of delivering epic alumni experiences with Hokie Football trips (2000 National Championship, bowl games, ACC Championship in Charlotte, USC and Boise State games @ FedEx Field) and ongoing opportunities such as Homecoming events, annual Summer Fest Party, regional events and informal gatherings through out the year such as the Annual Myrtle Beach Golf Extravaganza are all part of the Beta Omega experience!

By far the largest events are the quennial reunions that celebrate our Organization’s founding at Virginia Tech (SilverFest, TBU XL, Beta Omega of Theta Xi Founders Celebration, Corn45), attended by members and friends of the fraternity from all over the world. July 2022 saw over 200 Brothers, Little Sisters, and Friends of Beta Omega return to Blacksburg for GoldFest - The 50th Anniversary of the Founding of the Beta Omega Chapter of Theta Xi at Virginia Tech.

A number of the alumni have volunteered to support Theta Xi nationally as members of the Grand Lodge, regional directors, and members of national committees. The alumni of Theta Xi Fraternity live the ideal of "Once a Theta Xi, always a Theta Xi."

BOAA also plays an active role in supporting the active chapter. Support comes from providing resources and guidance to the active chapter leadership through the Chapter Advisor and association leadership for successful operations, relationships with the university and IFC, and managing The Estate @ 208 Upland Road. By purchasing the Theta Xi Fraternity House at 208 Upland Road in 1994, the BOAA took a major step towards ensuring that Beta Omega's future growth and prosperity at Virginia Tech remained firmly in the control of its members and is a major asset today. In addition, financial support is provided for Rush (recruitment) and leadership development opportunities such Presidents and Rising Stars Academy, regional conferences, and national convention through Theta Xi nationally. The alumni also provide a valuable resource for job contacts, personal services contacts, and a wealth of information and expertise on a wide variety of topics.

BOAA supports the active chapter by funding and maintaining the Henry Wiss Scholarship and Vredenburgh Leadership awards through the Virginia Tech Foundation, and by providing financial support through the Beta Omega Chapter Education Account (CEA) with the Theta Xi National Fraternity Foundation that funds sending active chapter members to regional leadership development and national Fraternity events. Gifts are tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching!
